Cooling section

In this project, a completely new inflow geometry was developed for an existing flow channel and tested using CFD simulation.

The initial situation:

The client produces plastic coatings through extrusion processes, which are cooled in their own flow channels after leaving the extrusion plant via flow ducts. Cooled air is injected into the flow channel. Using the countercurrent principle, the air flows along the plastic surface. Cooling should be as uniform as possible along the belt width. This requirement was not met by the original design of the channel.

The result after CFD simulation and revision:

The air for cooling flows in a more uniform manner through the duct in the new arrangement.
