F-body for bulk material transport
The aim of this project was to develop a weight-optimized F-body for the 33ft base frame for bulk material transport. Using high-strength steels (alform700) and wear-resistant steels (Durastat 1000), a superstructure was developed that is intended for transporting iron ore.
The model was created, calculated and evaluated as a shell model in accordance with the state of the art of finite element simulation. The opening mechanism was fully integrated in the model.
The design included the evaluation according to the FKM guideline for the static design (considering the plastic support coefficient), as well as a DVS1612 evaluation in terms of the fatigue behavior of the base material and the weld seams.
The welding schedules for the frame were determined on the basis of the calculation results and in accordance with EN15085-3 for weld seam class CP C2!
