Originally, the truss frame for the CC6.0 was designed with regard to operational and crash loads. In the course of the project, a changeover to a self-supporting carbon fiber envelope was made due to better stiffness properties and a weight advantage.
The project objectives were thus the design of the frame, the definition of all interfaces to the adjacent components and various mechanical issues for the frame design. The project also included tests on the landing skids and the CC6.0 prototype.
