Air conditioning shopping center

The objective of this project was to calculate the flow within a shopping center.

During the planning phase of a large shopping center the design of the air conditioning system is paramount to the comfort of the visitors and therefore the success of the shopping center. The dimensioning of the cooling units and the location of the outlets are therefore of special relevance.

As the solar radiation changes strongly during the day, a varying amount of heat is permeated through the glass faces of the building. Depending on the type of glass used, certain wave lengths of light are either reflected or absorbed. It is useful to consider the relation of glassed area and air conditioning during planning.
