Structural analysis wagon body

The project involved the development of the support structure of the wagon bodies (end wagon and middle wagon) from the design phase through to the auditable report for approval by the German Federal Railway Authority (EBA).

Integral construction in large aluminum profile technology in the wagon body cross-section as well as milled parts in the area of highly loaded transitions (door corners, coupling connections).

FEM modeling as a combined shell, solid and beam model including the mounting parts and calculation in MSC Nastran.

Determination of the load cases for the design of the magnetic levitation train based on EN12663-1, supplemented by load situations from MBS calculations that simulate the operation on the railway line, including vertical curves.

Evaluation of the entire supporting structure in accordance with DVS1608 for the static loads and fatigue loads. Both the base material and the weld seams were evaluated.

Specification of weld seam types and weld seam quality in accordance with EN 15085-3 to achieve economical production.

The image on the right shows the degree of utilization in the area of the train front in the evaluation program LIMIT.
