Generator cooling

The task was to simulate the cooling within a generator in order to develop constructive measures for the next generation of efficient generators.

– Determination of the current state
– Determination of bottlenecks in the areas of high pressure losses

Result:

–  Baffle plates for the reduction of flow losses

The initial condition of the current generator with the highest power was improved – taking into account the manufacturing possibilities of the customer – which allowed an additional increase in power while maintaining the allowed peak temperatures. The figure to the right displays the flow lines through the generator.
