Gearbox
This project concerned the calculation of a gearbox housing for a drive train of a streetcar set (ATT Incentro – Nantes).
The model was created after a direct transfer of the design drawings via an IGES interface. This facilitated the reconstruction of the complex surface.
The design calculation was performed on a
combined beam-shell model with the focus on the gearbox housing.
This required complete modeling of the drive unit with the motor and the gearbox as well as the bearings of the drive unit and the drive shafts. The calculation was performed taking into account the contact conditions in the drive train (gears).
The maximum acceleration loads in the longitudinal and transverse directions were identified as the decisive loads for the gear housing.
The approval of the design for production was demonstrated.
